As per my e-mail of 19 Apr 10:15, the following plan is proposed:
1. Make up a list of the areas in which we need SMEs. I imagine there will be 2 or
3 main areas (end systems, network systems) plus perhaps a few specialist sub-areas
(operating systems, applications, hardware etc)
2. [In parallel with step 1]
Everybody note down those organisations (and points
of contact) with which they have a special relationship (primary equipment vendors,
academic groups, special interest groups (including mailing lists), non-SA3 NRENs
and peer networks, etc, etc).
STEPS 1 & 2 BY 29 APRIL
3. Approach the people/organisations identified in step 2 - where more than one
NREN knows a particular organisation, then we decide who is best placed to make the
approach.
4. [In parallel with step 3] Identify any areas (from step 1) in which we are short
of potential SMEs, then identify additional organisations which could be approached.
Such organisations are ones with which none of us has a special relationship, but
we are acquainted with, or have some connection.
STEPS 3 & 4 BY 16 MAY
5. Approach the people/organizations identified in step 4.
