The issue was solved 19 Nov 2004, but as Toby stated, there is some difficulty in managing the tools. At least it is not a 5 minutes matter, but it needs some study, at least initially, and at least for non-linux geeks as I am. Some attention should be paid to this, at least an unique web page where information and step-by-step complete guide for case managers should be compiled, with a collection of the instructions for all the tools. A duty-roster reminder can also be useful.

Anyway, the issue solution was forcing full-duplex on the switch port facing the IPPM, as autonegotiation failed and it was in half-duplex status. More details at http://beta.dante.org.uk:8080/pert/issue1
