Hispeed 6000

A broadband Internet access provider has started offering a new high-speed package at 6000 kb/s. But using typical bandwidth testers such as the Web100 NDT tester, only about 5.3 Mb/s of TCP throughput can be reached even between highly tuned machines. We are looking for possible ways of how the rate-limiting mechanism could be improved to allow the nominal rate to be reached even with small test transfers; possibly even so that interactive response is maintained.
