Parts of the
eVLBI community use file transfer utilities from the
Mark5 software suite distributed by
MIT Haystack Observatory. The simplest of these are called
File2Net and
Net2File. They complement each other to transfer a single file over a single TCP connection.
File2Net usage
The
File2Net command line is of the following form:
File2net HOSTNAME [FILENAME [STARTBYTE [ENDBYTE [DEBUG]]]]
where
- HOSTNAME
- is required and is the destination host to which the file will be sent.
- FILENAME
- is optional (default:
save.data) and specifies the file whose contents will be sent to HOSTNAME STARTBYTE and ENDBYTE: can be used to specify a part of the file. You can pass "." to skip them.
- DEBUG
- can be used to select additional output. One has to specify "0" to activate debug output.
