Agenda / Proceedings
Welcome / Agenda Bashing
eduroam Managed SP now live
- https://msp-pilot.eduroam.org
- Documentation on https://wiki.geant.org/display/H2eduroam/A+guide+to+eduroam+Managed+SP+PILOT
- Reminder: RADIUS servers will stay on stable IP address even after pilot phase
- web interface likely to move “elsewhere” (probably https://hosted.eduroam.org to merge with Managed IdP)
- display Called-Station-Id and/or NAS-Identifer and/or NAS-IP-Address (to identify defunct APs etc.)
CAT release / translations
- a few new strings in the pipeline (Managed SP statistics)
- last chance for CAT 2.1 translations: contact Stefan and/or register at https://transifex.com
Recommendations for Wi-Fi 6E
- being developed on https://pad.gwdg.de/0SY9LSM_RkiJtNny4e7OcQ#
- discovery is … odd (primary discovery is by advertising 6 GHz on a 5 GHz channel instead)
- direct scanning possible, but not necessarily implemented on clients today
- Suggest a wait-and-see if firmwares become more mature and support 6 GHz discovery directly
- 1 year is not too long (new APs likely to trickly in rather slowly; and always bring 5 GHz so a fallback is there)
