Location:
CSUC
Annexus building
C/ Gran Capità, no number

The path is totally accessible, including the metro station (there are elevators to the platforms and the street) and the A1 building (street level).
Take the ramps from GRan Capità street. This is the entrance of the building and what you will see from the Gran Capità street once you pass the Nexus I building (the round glass one):

Getting to Barcelona from the airport Barcelona El Prat Josep Tarradellas
We recommend you fly to Barcelona El Prat Josep Tarradellas airport (BCN). Some applications show the airports of Reus and Girona as if they were Barcelona. They are not. They are far away and you can only reach Barcelona by bus from there. So, please, fly to BCN. There are two terminals: T1 and T2. If you need to take a bus, train or metro in the other terminal, there is a free shuttle bus between the two terminals every 5 minutes. Then, from the airport to the city, you can choose:
- Aerobus is a direct bus from the airport (T1/T2) to the city centre (aerobus). It cost 7,45 € per trip (12.85 € if you buy the return ticket).
- You can take bus number 46 from the airport (T1/T2) to Plaça Espanya. It costs 2,65 € per trip and you can buy a single ticket inside the bus (or 1,25 € if you buy a T-casual first). Please, be aware you can not buy a T-casual inside the bus, but you can buy at the metro station and then go to the bus if you want. Also, take into account you can pay in TMB buses directly with your bank card and no physical ticket will be needed in this case.
- Metro line 9 stops directly in Zona Universitària (where CSUC is). You need to pay a special fee to travel from the airport (Airport ticket). It costs 5,70 €.
- There is a train from the airport to Sants Estació and Passeig de Gràcia (only from T2). It costs 5.05 €.
- More information about public transportation from/to the airport here: https://www.ambmobilitat.cat/Principales/Aeropuerto.aspx
- You can take a taxi (there are well-signalled taxi stations there). Expect around 34/40 € from the airport to the city centre.
- Uber, Cabify, Mytaxi and other apps work quite well in Barcelona.
The most efficient way to travel with public transportation in Barcelona is to buy a T-Casual card in any metro machine for 12.55 € (+0,50 € carton rechargeable card), which includes 10 trips with the right to exchange between buses (except Aerobus), metro (except from/to the airport), train Zone 1 and tram during 75 minutes. If you are going to use more than 6 single tickets, is worth buying a T-casual. You can find all the possible tickets here: https://www.tmb.cat/en/barcelona-fares-metro-bus/. You will read you can only use the T-casual with the T-mobilitat and that you need to register, but the truth is that you can buy a carton rechargeable card per 0,50 €. You can also buy an "Hola Barcelona" card for 2 to 5 days, that includes Aureobus.
For single tickets (2,65 €): You can pay in TMB buses (reb buses, most of them) directly with your bank card and no physical ticket will be needed in this case. When you get on the bus through the first door, you will find a reader in front of the cab. It is the contactless bank card reader that allows you to buy and validate the single bus ticket in a single step, just by approaching the card. In some metro accesses, there is also a special validation machine that allows you to buy and validate a single ticket with a bank card. If this is not the case, you can use the machines to buy your ticket.
Practicalities
- The currency is the Euro (€).
- You can pay with credit card almost everywhere, including taxis.
- Power plugs are Type F ( CEE 7/4 and CEE 7/7 standards). The standard voltage is 230 V at a frequency of 50 Hz.
- Passport needed for countries out of Schengen area.
- We do not recommend to fly to Reus or Girona, as these two airports are far away from Barcelona.
- There is roaming available from most EC countries.

Flow analysis and monitoring detection - Carl Holt and Filip Cerny, Progress
Carl and his colleagues Filip and Ed have been working with GÉANT's SOC for over 10 years assisting with flow analysis and monitoring with tools such as flowmon. Carl will deliver a talk about the challenges they have overcome and how collaboration has delivered new tooling and expansion of existing tools.Presentation
Maat, Tomasz Szewczyk, PCSS Maat is a Source of Truth application that ensures efficient management of infrastructure information in network service orchestration and automation systems. The approach used allows for easy definition of advanced resources and services and the creation of relationships between them. The application offers secure REST API, a nice UI, authentication and authorization features using the well-known open-source Identity and Access Management software Keycloak. | |

Improving identification of R&E network traffic - Tim Chown, Jisc
The scientific network tags (Scitags) project is developing software tools to allow better identification of the owner (community) and purpose (activity) of science traffic by NRENs, other network operators and research communities. Scitags supports marking on a per-packet basis using the IPv6 flow label or per flow using parallel UDP “firefly” packets. The approach is already in use in CERN’s Worldwide Large Hadron Collider Computing Grid (WLCG) infrastructure, but is extensible to other projects and (non-science) communities.Presentation

16:15 - 17:00 | Discussion: How many data would you like to see and share?, Ivana Golub, PCSS Research and education institutions participate in many multidomain project that require a resilient end-to-end network. But, what happens when there is a problem and we can not see the whole path? Are we willing to share our data? And, if so, up to how many data would we share? Following the example from Metranova, we will see the possibilities we have, examples, etc. |

Crisis Management Exercise 2026 - Joze Hanc (ARNES) and Charlie van Genuchten (SURF)
The talk will give some details about the exercise that will take place in March 2026, where NRENs will be able to really test their crisis procedures in their own organisations, plus how they work together with NRENs in that crisis. The session will be also an way to get input from SIG-NOC on both the kind of scenario and the communication lines the exercise should try to trigger.Presentation

Presentation Mobile App Network trAffic Nutrition fActs (MANANA) - Giuseppe Aceto, UNINA
End-users of mobile applications hardly know which enterprises and countries are involved in their online activities, and the implied rights and risks. Researchers and regulators need actual usage data to verify data sovereignty compliance. MANANA aims at providing the former with understandable characterisations of infrastructure usage, and the latter with a monitoring system of actual mobile apps usage. The user will be enabled to choose among similar apps and report her data exposure (providing visibility to authorities). The app and the collection server will be released as open-source. MANANA is a project from the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, funded by GÉANT's Innovation Programme.

15 | Discussion: Flow Monitoring Tools, What do we use?, Joze Hank, ARNES Following the discussions in the mailing list, this open debate will focus on the tools we use to visualise raw flows from the network. From open-source to commercial tools, there are dozens of tools out there. What are they pros and they cons? What are we missing? |

GEANT's operational Experiences Using GAP (Automation system) to deploy services and new router platforms - Will Barber, GÉANT
This talk will give details on GEANT's experiences using GAP to migrate platforms and deploy services, including problems we faced, screen shots of the tool and how it will be used to push base config and update base config and add/delete services.
