Aims and Objectives

The Task Forces and SIGs:	In order to:	Examples:	Current Year Priorities:
1, Facilitate the sharing of experience, best practice and standardisation in the following areas: security, identity, developer, campus, communications, cloud, connectivity and community.	Produce outputs to support that shared experience	SIG-ISM: published white papers on risk and security management. Two working groups established and running, as well as 4 regional working groups (2 already actively working together). SIG-Greenhouse: inventory of OSS and dependencies, inventory of NREN in-house development practices. DDoS Mitigation workshop. TF-CSIRT: CSIRT maturity models, vulnerability disclosures, responsible disclosure, BCP38	Managing portfolio coherently, working on processes for completing groups more effectively, more work on requirements with GCC. Developing SIG-Greenhouse and SIG-NGN.
2, Explore lower level Technology Readiness Levels in the following areas: security, identity, developer, campus, communications, cloud, connectivity and community.	Run small scale discussions, tests and pilots around these ideas	SIG-CISS: full-stack cloud software architectures and deployments. Mobility work: govroam planning, interoperability with public wifi / shared SSIDs (and WIFI4EU discussions), Let's RadSec, NRENs and IoT, improving monitoring tools, 5G opportunities. TF-CSIRT: developing Splunk for incident response, response testing development to service.	Proposal from Klaas on innovation pipeline.
3, Provide platforms to promote and get feedback on the work of GÉANT and its partners in the following areas: security, identity, developer, campus, communications, cloud, connectivity and community.	Improve the uptake and knowledge of services and developments through that dissemination	Promoting Sirtfi at TF-CSIRT. Promoting Trusted Introducer at TF-CSIRT. Vendor presentations at TF-CSIRT, TF-Storage.	Developing more processes and tools to support communication, building on blogging focus of year one. Areas will be innovating event programmes, communication between meetings and meeting and output evaluation.
4, Develop training and materials to support needs in the following areas: security, identity, developer, campus, communications, cloud, connectivity and community.	Upskill the community	SIG-NOC: training proposal. TF-CSIRT: TRANSITS. Crisis Management Exercise. SIG-Marcomms: blogging training.	Support for SIG-NOC training. Schools connectivity and education focused workshops.
5, Support Community Services in the following areas: security, identity, developer, campus, communications, cloud, connectivity and community.	Implement services that cannot be funded via different routes	TF-CSIRT: Trusted Introducer. SIG-Greenhouse: Commons Conservancy. SIG-CISS: Owncloud preferential pricing agreement.
