CSUC

Annexus building

C/ Gran Capità, no number

08034 Barcelona

The Annexus building is the basement of A1, but the access is from the Gran Capità street, not from the ground level at A1). Take the metro or the tram, stop at Zona Universitària and it's less than a 10 min walk. The path is totally accessible, including the metro station (there are elevators to the platforms and the street) and the A1 building (street level).

Take the ramps from GRan Capità street. This is the entrance of the building and what you will see from the Gran Capità street once you pass the Nexus I building (the round glass one):

Accommodation

CSUC is not in the city centre, but in Zona Universitària, where many faculties and schools are. Below you can find affordable hotels and residences in the vicinity of CSUC offices. There are also many other hotels in the city. So, if you prefer to stay in the city centre, you can still reach the office with public transportation quite easily. CSUC is trying to get discounts from some hotels. Stay tuned!

Getting to Barcelona from the airport Barcelona El Prat Josep Tarradellas

We recommend you fly to Barcelona El Prat Josep Tarradellas airport (BCN). Some applications show the airports of Reus and Girona as if they were Barcelona. They are not. They are far away and you can only reach Barcelona by bus from there. So, please, fly to BCN. There are two terminals: T1 and T2. If you need to take a bus, train or metro in the other terminal, there is a free shuttle bus between the two terminals every 5 minutes. Then, from the airport to the city, you can choose:

  • Aerobus is a direct bus from the airport (T1/T2) to the city centre (aerobus). It cost 7,25 € per trip.
  • You can take bus number 46 from the airport (T1/T2) to Plaça Espanya. It costs 2,65 € per trip and you can buy a single ticket inside the bus (or 1,25 € if you buy a T-casual first). Please, be aware you can not buy a T-casual inside the bus, but you can buy at the metro station and then go to the bus if you want.
  • Metro line 9 stops directly in Zona Universitària (where CSUC is). You need to pay a special fee to travel from the airport (Airport ticket). It costs 5,50 €.
  • There is a train from the airport to Sants Estació and Passeig de Gràcia (only from T2). It costs 4.90 €.
  • More information about public transportation from/to the airport here: https://www.ambmobilitat.cat/Principales/Aeropuerto.aspx
  • You can take a taxi (there are well-signalled taxi stations there). Expect around 34/40 € from the airport to the city centre.
  • Uber, Cabify, Mytaxi and other apps work quite well in Barcelona.

The most efficient way to travel with public transportation in Barcelona is to buy a T-Casual card in any metro machine for 12.15 € (+0,50 € carton rechargeable card), which includes 10 trips with the right to exchange between buses (except Aerobus), metro (except from/to the airport), train Zone 1 and tram during 75 minutes. If you are going to use more than 6 single tickets, is worth buying a T-casual.  You can find all the possible tickets here: https://www.tmb.cat/en/barcelona-fares-metro-bus/. You will read you can only use the T-casual with the T-mobilitat and that you need to register, but you can buy a carton rechargeable card per 0,50 €. You can also buy an "Hola Barcelona" card for 2 to 5 days, that includes Aureobus.

Practicalities

  • The currency is the Euro (€).
  • You can pay with credit card almost everywhere, including taxis.
  • Power plugs are Type F ( CEE 7/4 and CEE 7/7 standards).  The standard voltage is 230 V at a frequency of 50 Hz.
  • Passport needed for countries out of Schengen area.
  • We do not recommend to fly to Reus or Girona, as these two airports are far away from Barcelona.
  • There is roaming available from most EC countries.
