This consultation is now closed - thank you for your participation! A final version has been prepared for agreement by the GeGC.

Background

The eduroam Compliance Statement has not been updated since 2011 and contains both a number of outdated references (e.g. to TERENA) and views on the service technology that have since developed.  After extensive consultation with the Global eduroam Governance Committee, a proposed new compliance statement has been drafted.  This consultation is an opportunity for all Roaming Operators to comment on the proposed changes before the final version will be sent for vote by the GeGC.

2Section 1.8 - definition - eduroam core Operations TeamCan we provide a bit more structure to this definition as the team relates to the GeGC? Do we want to say it Is established under the authority of the GeGC subsequently delegated (or now de facto delegated) to GEANT as an RC?Sara Jeanes, Internet2

Added: The relationship between the GeGC and GÉANT is further described in the GeGC Charter to 1.3.

Added: The core Operational Team is appointed by GÉANT to definition.

Recommended: the GeGC Charter needs to be updated to better describe actual functional relationships. Core Team and Secretariat for example are not apppointed by GeGC but by the funding body.
