TCP Westwood+
An improvement on TCP Westwood, which adds a bandwidth estimation algorithm that "provides a measure of used bandwidth that is not aliased" (from an end2end-interest article). Developed at the C3LAB at Politecnico de Bari (Italy), this has been implemented as a Linux patch (see below) and contributed to the mainstream Linux kernel tree. It should be integrated as of version 2.6.18.
A proposed OpenSolaris project foresees the implementation of Westwood+ TCP and several other congestion control algorithms for OpenSolaris.
