Agenda / Proceedings
- Welcome / Agenda Bashing
- WPA3 R2 coming closer to reality
- Android 11 removes the “Do not validate” option
- if IdP uses system certificates, that option is still there -> no urgency in that case
- see Reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/networking/comments/j7ero1/psa_android_11s_december_security_update_will/
- CAT feature request: auto-detect root CA during profile generation
- AOB / next VC
- OpenRoaming documentation
- Android APIs: 28 and below use the “traditional” (eduroamCAT app like) configuration approach. >=30 supports Suggestion API. New app releases from Dec 2020 have to target 30. Apps targeting 30 will
a) use the new Suggestion API both on Android 10 and 11 (and up).
b) can support the old APIs down to at least Android 8
This means the eduroamCAT app is only required on Android 4 - 7 and could do 8 - 10. - Difference between Managed IdP vs. geteduroam vs. CAT. Paul explained, action item for @paul to add explanations to the wiki (dedicated page about onboarding probably)
- conflict on 27 oct -> 10 nov 2020, 1530 CET?
