Agenda / Proceedings

  1. Welcome / Agenda Bashing

  2. CAT

  • translation run ongoing -> if you want your translation included, look at the Transifex portal
  1. geteduroam
  • crickets (no news)
  1. IETF
  1. OpenRoaming / WBA
  • recommendation to NOT automatically cache Access-Reject
  1. AOB
  • WFA, WPA3 and Radsec?
  • Wi-Fi alliance is discussing DPSK / IPSK / PPSK for WPA3.
    • Organisations in the US are looking at this for multiple occupation (apartment complexes etc)
    • Dan Harkins has proposal which is explicitly compatible with RADIUSavi
  • eduroam Visitor Access - limited to NROs?
    • software is closed-source, SURFnet copyright - requires contract
    • there are examples of this being shared with others so institutions can run their own instance
    • contact Paul Dekkers to get a tenancy on their system, or to get code for your own instance
  • did we learn anything from eduroam at TNC? (may have missed this)
    • Still need the exact stats out of the infrastructure folks, but based on previous events, WPA3 was the most common.
      • What would be interesting is the frequency mix (2.4/5/6 GHz), and eventual look at WPA2/WPA3 ratio.
    • Only issue was geteduroam service being flooded with connections (Jisc’s fault, quickly fixed)
    • OpenRoaming stats need to be pulled to see what the only OR AP there did.
