By joining any eduroam network as a user you shall be deemed to accept these conditions of use:
- When using an eduroam network, you shall always comply with local laws that regulate the use of the network
- You shall not use an eduroam network for any unlawful purpose and not (attempt to) breach or circumvent any administrative or security controls.
- You shall respect intellectual property and confidentiality agreements.
- You shall protect your access credentials (e.g. private keys or passwords).
- Use of any eduroam network is at your own risk. There is no guarantee that the network will be available at any time or that it will suit any purpose.
- Logged information is used for administrative, operational, accounting, monitoring and security purposes only. Although efforts are made to maintain confidentiality, no guarantees are given.
- The access-granting bodies and Resource Providers are entitled to regulate, suspend or terminate your access, within their domain of authority, and you shall immediately comply with their instructions.
- You are liable for the consequences of you violating any of these conditions of use.

Sep 11, 2012intellectual property and confidentiality agreements are usually covered by local laws (e.g: US: DMCA is a law; a confidentiality agreement is a civil contract; there are laws that govern contracts). So I find item 3 superfluous - number 1 is a superset of it.

We should not impose specific wording into an AUP. It should cover generic use of a computer system.
Points #5 and #7 were regarded as "good" as there isn't a mechanism to inform the user with regards to logging or lack of SLAs.
There needs to be a "grandfather" clause or "sunset period" so that this can be implemented progressively.
