intellectual property and confidentiality agreements are usually covered by local laws (e.g: US: DMCA is a law; a confidentiality agreement is a civil contract; there are laws that govern contracts). So I find item 3 superfluous - number 1 is a superset of it.

    Taken from the GeGC notes:

Chris suggested that #3 and #4 are struck from the list. I'm guessing he'll provide clarification for why #4 should be struck.

Use of the phrase "eduroam network" should be removed. We should not impose specific wording into an AUP. It should cover generic use of a computer system.

Points #5 and #7 were regarded as "good" as there isn't a mechanism to inform the user with regards to logging or lack of SLAs.

There needs to be a "grandfather" clause or "sunset period" so that this can be implemented progressively.

    Comments from the EU Confederation:

    • How to inform legacy user base who havent been informed?
    • The rules in this text are only meant for roaming use - local use is internal business of the participant.

(personal comment: only international roaming even - national roaming is intra-federation business?)
